On May 7, the Social Business Hub Styria started the next round of the Social & Green incubation program with a kick-off event at the Unicorn Startup & Innovation Hub. For the fifth time, we welcomed committed teams to our incubation program, who presented their innovative ideas in a short pitch.

Over the next 12 months, the participants will be accompanied by our executive team Kirsten Tangemann and Rüdiger Wetzl-Piewald. Through workshops, networking events, coaching and technical know-how, we support them in the development and growth of their social and green enterprises.

There are different ways in which a social business can combine impact with an economic business model. In an integrated approach impact is directly generated through commercial activities. Target groups are part of the model either as employees of the company, as users of services or as customers. When customers and beneficiaries differ the situation is more complex and a differentiated impact business model applies. “Sustainable” businesses generate impact by using environmentally sustainable processes, products or services.
