Last week the time had come: the second edition of our Impact Lab started! This time, too, we were impressed by the commitment and personal engagement of the participants. In a short presentation, the (prospective) founders received some tips on how to recognize a social challenge as such, find possible solutions and finally analyze whether an impact-oriented business model can be developed from it.
The participants then went straight into practice: in group work, the cause, the core problem and the impact of their previously defined social or ecological challenge were precisely analyzed using “problem trees”. The individual teams already received valuable input and guidance from our board duo Kirsten Tangemann and Rüdiger Wetzl-Piewald, who always had an eye on what the participants should pay attention to and which points they should reconsider. In addition, the teams benefited from the stimulating discussions with the other participants and were happy about the opportunity to network with each other for further exchange.
In the Impact Labs and Impact Bootcamp, (prospective) founders are taught with the basics, but also an in-depth know-how was passed to be able to start as a successful social entrepreneur. The next Impact bootcamp sessions will take place on 16, 17 and 23, September 2022. Registration is possible until 6 September 2022. Participation in the workshops is free of charge.
Twice a year there is the opportunity to be included in the start-up program of the Social Business Hub Styria (always in spring and autumn). The competing teams and prospective founders present their projects in a pitch event in front of an independent jury, which decides who will be included in the start-up program. Our incubated participants will then receive support from us for up to 12 months in setting up their social or green business. This ranges from direct support of experts and their know-how, to the opportunity to use our extensive network, to an office workplace in the UNICORN Startup & Innovation Hub at Schubertstrasse.
All that remains for us to say is that, as always, it was a pleasure to work with such committed and inspiring people – we wish all participants every success on their further path and of course we always look forward to another stimulating exchange!
