As part of the “Business with Impact” event, the Social Business Hub Styria, together with co-host Thomas Spann (Kleine Zeitung), invited people to a networking event on June 20th at the Styria Media Center Graz to talk to leading personalities from politics, business and science and to discuss the the outstanding role of Styria business area to social entrepreneurship and to network impact-oriented entrepreneurs with representatives of leading Styrian companies.
After introductory welcoming words from the “host” Thomas Spann (Managing Director of Kleine Zeitung) and the Board Members of Social Business Hub Styria, the leading researcher in the field of social entrepreneurship in Austria, Peter Vandor (WU Vienna), gave a brief insight into the constantly growing Austrian business social entrepreneurship landscape and its challenges. In the panel discussion that followed City Councilor for Economic Affairs Günter Riegler, Peter Vandor and Doris Kiendl, director of the “International Management and Entrepreneurship” Institute at the FH Joanneum, discussed the framework conditions that are needed to guarantee a sustainable Styrian economy with impact-oriented entrepreneurship.
In another panel discussion, Walburga Fröhlich (managing director atempo), Margareth Koller-Prisching (CSR manager Styria Media Group) and Thomas Auer (managing director Sonnenschmiede) gave insights into their motivation, plans and experiences on the topic of “social and ecological innovations as drivers for the Styrian economy”
