Award ceremony for Idea Call – 6.2.2024, 18:00

On February 6, 2024, 6 pm (admission: 5:30 pm), the winners of this year’s ideas competition will be announced and awarded prizes at a big evening event at the Unicorn Startup & Innovation Hub!

Program:
At this entertaining event, we can expect introductory greetings from Provincial Councillor Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, Provincial Councillor Simone Schmiedtbauer and Municipal Councillor Martin Brandstätter on behalf of City Councillor Günter Riegler, informative talks and interviews with social entrepreneurs.

In a panel discussion with Remo Taferner (Managing Director of the Center for Applied Technology Leoben (ZAT)), Daniela Adler (Managing Director of Regional Development Eastern Styria), social entrepreneur Thomas Winkler (founder of Apflbutzn, GECO-Festival) and Dieter Hubmann (Editorial Director of Themenmagazine, Kleine Zeitung), we will discuss “Why good solutions are needed and must be communicated”.

In another part of the program, we will look at best practice examples of successful social entrepreneurship: Fabian Gems (Managing Director of SUPASO) will outline the steep rise of his company from its beginnings to the present day in a pitch.

Founders from our Social & Green Business Incubation Program are not to be missed either: Christina Jäger will show us what’s behind her company Sclio!

The event will of course focus on the winners of this year’s ideas competition. Their submitted projects will be presented and awarded prizes on this evening.

The award ceremony offers all participants the opportunity to get to know the Styrian social business landscape and the various activities of the Social Business Hub Styria and to network.

The aim of the Social Business Hub Styria ideas competition is to find ideas or sustainable concepts that contribute to solving social or ecological challenges in Styria. The submissions selected by an expert jury can look forward to prize money totaling € 1,500 and will be given the opportunity to further develop their concepts with the experts of the Social Business Hub Styria.
